Course Description:
Conducting Effective Workplace Investigations
When an employee comes forward with an issue, what do you do? Employee issues need to be taken seriously and reasonably thorough investigations need to take place. Ideally an HR representative would conduct an investigation, however your front line supervisors also need to be trained to handle fairly basic investigations and initial fact finding. This program is meant to address both needs of HR personnel and supervisors alike.
Subject matter will cover whether the employee issue needs to be investigated by the company or not, questions to ask during the interview and how to create a safe environment that facilitates a better investigative interview. Documentation of the investigation and outcome along with retaliation will be covered. Several interactive real world case studies will be included in the presentation.
